Stronger Together Happy Hour 
On February 26th, we're going to advance women and families in New York State by bringing together individuals concerned about the Child Care, equal pay and paid family leave movements. Join Center for Children's Initiatives, the PowHer NY Equal Pay Campaign and the New York Paid Leave Coalition for a networking fundraising happy hour in order to support our Advocacy on these crucial issues. Attendees will have the opportunity to mingle with leaders working to win paid leave, Child Care and equal pay. This action forum will provide a platform to deepen relationships, expand existing networks, and offer powerful tools and resources for action!

New Proposal for Statewide Full-Day Pre-K


CCI and CEE (Campaign for Educational Equality) have released their latest proposal for ensuring adequate, appropriate, and stable funding for pre-K in New York State, Securing the Future of New York's Children: Taking the Final Steps Toward Truly Universal Prekindergarten. This proposal builds on The Roadmap for making pre-K truly universal released last year.

Champions for Children 2014

Thank you to everyone who joined us at the 12th Annual Champions for Children Awards Luncheon that was held on Monday, October 20, 2014. This event recognized the significant achievements of individuals, organizations and corporations dedicated to quality early care and education for New York City's children. We are extremely proud that Mayor de Blasio declared Monday October 20, 2014 as CCI Day. Receiving an official Proclamation acknowledging our contribution to children, families and our society is indeed a high point, and we are grateful to share this memorable occasion with you.

Ready to Launch


The City released its implementation plan for free, high-quality, full-day universal pre-K for NYC’s 4 year olds. The plan would reach 53,000 students by September and include a focus on quality, additional assistance for children whose primary language is not English, and increased family support in high-need areas.
